New Techniques

I recently did this piece after browsing through the book Taking Flight: Inspiration And Techniques To Give Your Creative Spirit Wings by Kelly Rae Roberts. I'm always looking for new ideas and techniques to try out, and this book has some fun approaches.

Back in the Swing

I've been on my own self declared mini vacay for the past month or so! Much needed, I must say.

I've just started working on the second half of illustrations for my children's book. It's coming together nicely, but slowly.

I also just joined Imagekind.com in hopes of selling some prints of my work. Etsy seems to have slowed down, and it's a lot of money out of pocket, especially when you're not making much!

Oh, Value Comps, How I Loathe Thee

I am currently finishing up the value studies for my children's book, The Claw Foot Tub. Not my most favortie thing to do. However, I did fancy this one quite a bit. Reminds me of a comic book or graphic novel.

I am getting really excited about the painting phase. I just got my brand new set of Kolinsky Sable Brushes, and I can't wait to try them out!!! $250 brush set...a steal for less than $50 bucks on sale at Jerry's Artarama!

Winter Slumber

Being a new mom has been inspiring, not only in my day to day life, but in my life as artist. You start to see things differently, taking notice and appreciation of what for so long you have taken for granted. This watercolor, entitled Winter Slumber, is a sort of tribute to my daughter, London.
